Fiddleheads

I am getting ready to do paintings for a few exhibitions going on down-state.  One is all about Maine so I decided to try doing fiddleheads.

I may try another one using some different colors.

Houlton Third Thursday Event

The photos taken during Houlton's Third Thursday were in the Pioneer today.  Not a big write up, just photos on the very last page of the paper.

I really enjoyed being part of this event.  I love face painting looking forward to doing more of it this summer.'

Getting Face Paint Ready for Third Thursday

Finally dug out my face paint and practiced a few designs for this Thursday.  I haven't decided what I will put on the board for selections yet.

Another Day of Tie Dye Planned

We had such a great time creating t shirts on Saturday we are going at it again Wednesday.  Just picked up two Tulip tie dye kits and a bunch of shirts.  The 3.00 t shirt packs at Walmart are almost sold out, no size Medium left so we'll have to go with what we have for my son.

Tie Dye Day

My son made a beautiful tie dyed shirt in his second grade class last week.  I loved the shirt so much I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a tie dye kit and a bunch of t shirts.  My daughter and her boyfriend were here for the weekend so they got in on the dying too.

I have never tried tie dying before, I just figured it was too complicated.  Today i discovered it is pretty simple, messy but simple.

My son did his t shirt first -the black and brown one-which he stood by and supervised my doing it for him.  Jeremy did the black and red one, Megan did the elaborate spiral.  I then got my other daughter to do a bulls-eye -which she did mostly herself.  Then finally I did the peace sign.  I messed up a little on the top it looks more like a heart than a circle but close enough for first try. 
They still have a few shirts waiting in bags to rinse out and dry in the morning. 
We will be doing more on Wednesday.

Attention Senior Class of 2014

Last year the yearbook staff requested all senior photos turned in on October 31st so now is the time to be thinking about having your portraits taken.

I charge a very reasonable fee which includes free downloads of portraits from my online gallery.  The only additional charges to me would be printing.  I can also create custom invitations and prints.

Houlton High School Graduation 2013
