Spudtacular at Houlton Elementary School

Almost missed my favorite event of the year, Spudtacular.
Just found out yesterday that Houlton Elementary was putting on their annual Spud event and had to quickly throw something together.

We have a little black bear hamster named Lil Blu so I chose her for this years project.

Jeremy and I turned a potato into Lil Blu and a cardboard box into a cage we also used scrapbook paper and a coffee can cover for a wheel.  It was fun to make and took the award for Most Magnificent Potato.

It was an awesome show this year the potatoes were very creative.  Well done students and parents!

 A few images from the shoot I went on yesterday.  We drove around a few locations in Monticello and Houlton.  Thanks to one of our camp neighbors we found some great locations.

Crown of Maine Balloon Fest 2012

Up Above the Clouds so High

 Yes I went back to Presque Isle yesterday afternoon -three days in a row this week I am pooped!

My daughter felt we should chase the balloons rather than just take pictures at the fairgrounds.  What a chase it proved to be.  We ended up just outside of Presque Isle on the Caribou Rd.

We had a great time and are looking forward to next year.

A Soft Landing

Crown of Maine Balloon Fest 2012

 Finally made it up to the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest after all these years.  I have always wanted to go but for some reason I always miss it. 
It was worth the wait! 

I took all three of my kids ages 8-18 and my daughter's boyfriend, they all took pictures it was absolutely crazy.  When we returned home we had roughly 600 images.

Planning on another trip today, this time with not so may children.

Going to Presque Isle later today to see the hot air balloons for the first time ever.  Each year I want to go but always miss it for one reason or another.
